What it is
Nexus Node is a Windows app that uses Bitcoin SV comms layer.
Your name in the room is the first part of your Link paymail (username@nexusnode.link).
There is no Nexus account to create, and we do not run a central chat database.
Why use it
Spam has a price
Every channel post, reply, and DM costs a little BSV. Flooding a room is not free. Admins can also set a join fee.
Scam friction
DMs only go to people on your friends list. You can block handles. Channel admins can ban. Identity is a Link paymail, not a disposable email.
No ads
The app does not run advertising, trackers, or a feed of promoted junk. You pay the chain, not a sponsor.
Recorded history
Channel chat is on-chain — timestamped and usually permanent. Use Channel recall to load recent history. Nobody can quietly wipe the public ledger.
Channel admins
Claim a channel, set a join fee paid to you, and ban or unban handles. Open channels stay free to join.
Encrypted posts
Channel posts and DMs are encrypted. The channel name is hashed on-chain, not written in the clear. Handle, paymail, and the payment stay public — do not treat posts as invisible.
Threads & contacts
Follow a conversation inside a channel. Keep friends and a fave-channel list on your PC. GIFs and videos embed in chat.
How it works
- 1Install, create or import a Link wallet, and turn auto-pay on. Keep a little BSV for fees.
- 2Join a channel. If it has an admin, you pay their join fee once; leave and you pay again to re-enter.
- 3Talk. Posts, thread replies, and DMs are BSV transactions. WhatsOnChain is used to read the chain — if the wallet or APIs are down, chat waits until they recover.
