User Agreement – PayPal Linking & Market Features

By linking a PayPal account to The Shattered Clock (“the Game”) or by using market features that require a linked verified PayPal account, you agree to this User Agreement. If you do not agree, do not link PayPal and do not use those features.

1. Limited purpose of PayPal linking

PayPal linking is provided solely so the Game can confirm that you control a verified PayPal account and can associate a PayPal email / identifier with your Game profile for market-related features.

The Game does not process PayPal checkout payments, does not store your PayPal password, and does not automatically withdraw or deposit fiat through PayPal on your behalf.

2. Eligibility

You must be allowed to use PayPal under PayPal’s own terms
You must be old enough to use the Game and PayPal in your jurisdiction (generally 18+)
Only verified PayPal accounts may be linked for market features
You must not link an account you do not own or are not authorised to use

3. Your responsibilities

Keep your PayPal account secure and in good standing
Provide accurate authorisation only through official PayPal login screens
Use market features lawfully and in line with the Game’s rules
Understand that player-to-player fiat transfers (if any) are between players, not with the Game operator as payment processor

Important: In-game market trades that involve fiat are peer-to-peer arrangements between players. The Game provides listing/offer tooling and verification signals; it is not a bank, escrow agent, or PayPal payment facilitator for those player transfers. You trade at your own risk and should only deal with counterparties you are willing to trust.

4. Market features & on-chain activity

Some market actions publish public data to the Bitcoin SV blockchain (listings, offers, acceptances, completion markers, ratings, and similar game events). Public chain data cannot be fully erased. Do not put secret passwords or private credentials into game commands or on-chain messages.

5. Prohibited use

You agree not to:

Link stolen, fake, or unverified accounts to bypass Game rules
Use the market features for fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion, or other illegal activity
Harass, scam, or mislead other players
Attempt to reverse engineer, attack, or disrupt PayPal linking or Game services
Misrepresent affiliation with PayPal or the Game operator

6. No warranty

The Game and PayPal linking are provided “as is” and “as available”. Joel Dalais does not warrant uninterrupted service, uninterrupted blockchain indexing, or the behaviour of other players. PayPal’s services are governed by PayPal’s own terms and availability.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Joel Dalais is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from peer-to-peer trades between players, blockchain congestion, third-party wallet/PayPal outages, or unauthorised access to your own devices or accounts.

Nothing in this agreement excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including certain rights you may have as a consumer in the United Kingdom or elsewhere).

8. Intellectual property

The Shattered Clock, its name, story, text, systems, code, and related materials are the intellectual property of Joel Dalais unless otherwise stated. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable permission to use the Game client as provided. You may not copy, distribute, or commercially exploit the Game except as expressly allowed by the operator.

9. Termination

You may stop using PayPal linking at any time (unlink in the Game and/or revoke access in PayPal). The operator may suspend or restrict market or linking features in cases of abuse, legal risk, technical necessity, or violation of this agreement or Game rules.

10. Changes

This agreement may be updated from time to time. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made. Continued use of PayPal linking or related market features after changes take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country provide otherwise.
